Our Carpet Installation Process

From the first call to the final walkthrough, we keep things simple and transparent. Here is what to expect when you work with Carpet Barn:

Step 1: Free Estimate

We start with a free, no-obligation estimate. You can visit our New Cumberland showroom to see samples in person, or we can come to you to do a free in-home estimate. We measure the space, talk through your options, and give you a detailed written quote before anything is booked.

Step 2: Material Selection

Once the estimate is approved, we help you finalize your carpet selection. If you want something we do not have in stock, we will place a special order and keep you updated on timing.

Step 3: Scheduling

We schedule your installation at a time that works for you. Most standard carpet installations can be completed in a single day, depending on the size of the project.

Step 4: Installation Day

Our installers arrive on time and get to work. We move furniture when needed, remove existing flooring, prep the subfloor, and install your new carpet with attention to seaming, stretching, and trim. We pull and reset toilets and move refrigerators when the job calls for it.

Step 5: Walkthrough and Warranty

When the job is done, we walk through the space with you to make sure everything meets your expectations. All Carpet Barn carpet installations come with a 1-year workmanship warranty. If something is not right, we will make it right.

Carpet weight, measured in ounces per square yard, is one of the clearest indicators of quality and durability. We carry options across the full weight range:

50 oz.

A solid entry-level weight. Works well in bedrooms and low-traffic areas.

60 oz.

A popular mid-range option. Good balance of comfort, durability, and value.

70 oz.

Solution Dyed Polyester
